Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered in a search form go to the third-party provider that supplies the results. San Jose People Search does not save those searches on its own servers. When you send us a message, we receive the details you choose to provide and use them to answer you.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting systems create ordinary server logs, which may include an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the site and learn which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where those features apply.
How We Use Information
The limited information described above helps us run San Jose People Search, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve content. We neither sell a visitor list nor build individual visitor profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to San Jose, Santa Clara County, and California offices, library collections, and outside search services. Information sent to any linked service is controlled by that service's privacy policy. The same rule applies to sponsored results, which come from a third-party provider rather than San Jose People Search.
Parties That May Receive Data
Vendors that host or support the site may process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic information already described. We may disclose data when valid legal process requires it, but we do not otherwise distribute visitor data.
Safeguarding Your Information
San Jose People Search uses an encrypted connection. Server logs are kept only as long as the stated purposes require. Because the site has no visitor accounts, it holds no site password or account profile for you.
Visitors Under Age 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted personal data, and we will remove it.
Your California Privacy Rights
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may give California consumers rights to know, correct, or delete personal information covered businesses hold, as well as other rights provided by law. Because San Jose People Search retains very little, a request will usually involve our contact mailbox or server logs. Submit it through the Contact page. California's Delete Act also created DROP, a statewide deletion-request system for registered data brokers under Civil Code ยง 1798.99.82. DROP began accepting resident requests on January 1, 2026, and registered brokers begin processing them on August 1, 2026. Records held by San Jose, Santa Clara County, or California agencies remain under the custodian's control, so any correction or removal request for an official record must go to that office.
